X Spotting - HWY 87 from Fountain Hills to 202.
Who were ya?

Coming back from Sunflower I saw a real nice 01-02 Granite-ish colored X. Had Calmini SL + BL and a non-Shrock aftermarket front bumper. Rack with a tire on top like me.

Just a "Hello, nice X."

That was me. I was on my way back from a backpacking trip. I was totally beat. I looked in my rear view and was like, shit, there is a lifted X behind me. How long has that been there. Hehehe. I finally had to get around that old lady in the white car, couldn't stand it anymore.

Nice X as well. I am sure we got some looks cruising down the 87.

It is actually Jasons ARB from his 2000 white X.

Where were you backpacking? After I did Sunflower on Saturday, I hiked Saddle Mountain on Sunday.

We did the Pine Mountain Verde Rim Loop. Water was scarce. We had set up camp on Pine Mountain then tried to find one of two springs on our map. Both were dry. We ended up having to hike back one mile from the TH to Nelson Spring. After all that we had to do the 3+ miles back up the mountain to our camp. Our nice little 4-5 mile hike in turned into 12-13 before we got food in us at camp. Good times.

A friend of mine drove and I left my X at a buddies house in FH.

Highlight of the trip was one of my buddies to to bareback ride a cow. He got owned.

Unfortunetly the 10 sec rodeo footage was never caught. There was a cow in the trail and a friend ran and hopped on it, to get thrown off. Good stuff though. Here are a few less entertaining pics. The Willow fire came through there around ten years ago. Forest is doing well with a lot of new pine growth.

Tons of new growth.

The "ever quenching" Willow Spring.

Cool. Looks like some good vistas.

Too bad no pic of the cow ride. Would've been like something off of Man vs Wild with Bear Grylls, except... oh wait, "Bear" didn't catch the wild horse, and... it wasn't wild, just some one's backyard pet, and... it was all just on a cable TV show he was watching from his hotel room.
