I need something to stand on when I'm putting the Kayak on the rack, and since I busted the mounts for the stock side steps last time I was out with you guys, I figured I would just stretch the mastercard a bit more and go with some Shrockworks sliders. The kayak part might just be an excuse for me to spend the cash. Whatever works, right? And now the waiting begins...

Quick question - is the "optional" hole that can be drilled for max strength necessay? If so, I may need some help with the install so I don't screw it up.
