If you're in Houston and live near this dealership, I highly recommend them. I originally bought my X at Baker-Jackson Nissan across from Reliant Stadium, but my salesman turned out to be a complete ass so I vowed to never return there for anything.

I was having loud sounds coming from under my hood and both of my brake lights went out, so I decided to take my X in for repair for the first time in 3 1/2 years. The service employee who helped me out was Michael Gabbard. I was very pleased with his attention to detail on all past service bulletins for the X (window regulators, pumps, etc.) and I was very happy with the way he kept me informed on the work being performed on my X. I ended up having the Harmonic Balance Pulley replaced (Warranty) along with all belts ( $69.00 total), bulbs in the brakes replaced for a whopping 2 dollars and no labor charge or $50 deductible fee since they found it ironic that both lights went out at the same time. Oil change was performed and window regulators replaced on this visit also.

I was very happy with the customer service, the staff were all great to deal with and DAMN the new Z is sweet! If you're looking for a new Nissan or are in need of repair on your X, I highly reccomend this dealership.

I've been using them for their parts counter for a while now after being disgruntled with the very same dealer (Baker-Jackson South). What a coincidence!

McDavid's hours are stellar to boot. A parts counter open until 5PM on Saturdays? That's madness!

My truck needs an alignment and a few other things done (window regulator recall most noteably) so I guess I will have to make an appointment over there real soon.

Who the hell names their kid David McDavid???

Glad I found this site. I bought my Xterra on Saturday night @Baker Jackson. I'm glad I found out about their piss poor service department before it was too late

It was not just their service/parts that ticked me off, I drive up in my F-150 work truck and ask a salesman to test drive a Titan. 2 salespeople and 15 minutes later they are still not cooperating, so I told them I was not leaving until I test drove one. Hello? I'm a customer?

Glad to see another has been brought into the fold, good luck with the X! If you are interested there is a Nissan "car" club in Houston. I'm a member but have not been to a meeting in forever.

I did take it in to their shop for the alignment. Two tries and it is still not right but after they gave me the printout for me to examine the next time I take it back I will tell the tech how to get it done right. While the truck was there the service advisor took it upon herself to check for recalls and called to tell me they could do the window regulator recall that same day. I was surprised because I never thought they would have the parts already there and thus did not ask them about it because I really did not have extra time to wait. But it got done and the windows do not rattle anymore!

So I have both kudos and gripes, but they have been very friendly both times I have been there for service already.

David McDavid's in Houston too? Wonder if they still have wide-track doing ads or not... haven't seen him lately... mustve died, he looked old.

(Wide-Track was the big dog they used to use in the commercials. Kinda corny, but I sure remember him after all these years...)

I had a Sunny Shores. I have not had much bad luck with Baker Jackson other than the asshole salesman at 290 with the last name Buchanan.
I will give you the short story on this ass mofo.
So i buy the X and all is cool. Transaction pretty smooth for a new car purchase.
So the next morning my regulator goes out on the drivers side and sticks in the down position.
I take it back the next morning and ask to get it repaired.
He said no problem. Then he comes back and tells me its on back order, ok not his fault,
Then he tells me it will be 2 weeks and I need to leave me truck here and he will pay for an Enterprise rental until its fixed.
I looked at him for a second and explain this.
I just bought an X and I am not leaving this lot with atleast driving another X out of here.
He says all he has budgeted is for a Econo Car.
I started laughing. Then i said well then i guess you need to find my check because I am about to call stop payment on it.
Then he says you need to do what you need to do.
At that point I tell him to fuck off and walk out.
The finance officer runs after me and asks me to come back in. To my better judgement I said ok (this was the only 01 with 5 speed and 4x4 in Houston at the time). He asks me infront of the salesman what happened.
So i explained. Then he looks at the salesman and told him he has 5 minutes to get an X from the lot and hand me the keys or he needs to pack his shit and head home.
So somehow an X appears in the lot with keys ready to go. Gas card, and a hand written apoloigy from the asshole.
So I said 2 weeks back order right. Well may truck was repaired in 48 hours.
Amazing what is a lie and what is truth at a dealership.
As far as serivce Backer Jackson South has been good to me but I am willing to switch. Where is David McDavid.

The David McDavid Nissan I visited is on I-45 South, right across from Almeda Mall.

David McDavid just replaced my driver's side engine mount very quickly (less than 4 hrs), even had the part in stock. They also took care of a coolant system flush as I have no where to contain the mess I would make.

They are still good in my eyes and I still recommend them.
