Hi all,

I have a very.. er.. "enthusiastic" salesman who's been in contact with me to tell me they're attending an auction tomorrow that has a 2003 Xterra with 23,000 km on it and they could lease it to me for $499 including tax.

I haven't heard of this dealership.. he says it's a smaller, family-owned operation, but if anyone has any info on them, i'd appreciate it.

I live about 5 hours away.. so it's hard for me to find out what kind of reputation they have.

Sorry I dont have any info on that dealer, but 499.00 for a 2003 lease? You could lease a Lexus for less than that. Id keep my distance from that deal.

I'm kind of leary about anyone who is trying to sell me something that they dont have, let alone at a fixed cost, who said tht they are going to get the truck for what they think they will? and if they got it for less do you think that they will pass on the savings? Or if is more are they going to eat the loss?

That's still about US$455 which is too much for a 2003 lease.

It's closer to around $435 us...sounds pretty high for a 2003 lease.

What's the actual selling price???

These guys are all saying that $499 Canadian is too much, and I agree completely with them. That is a lot to be paying each month, for an '03 X. How long of a term are you financing for? 24 months? 36 months? 48 months? Run the numbers and add it all up.
Also, how is your credit?? If your credit is bad, then that helps to explain why the dealer is dictating such terms. People with bad credit are more of a risk (cost to repo the vehicle if the person doesn't pay. Cost to rehab the vehicle and sell it again.).

It wouldnt matter how long the lease is for. $435.00 is way more than I would pay for a 2006 lease. Im sure you could lease a 05 for less.

Dave - I agree with ya. But there are other factors that need to be presented here:
1) How much is the person putting down on the down payment??

2) How long is the lease/financing term??

3) How is the person's credit??

Again, I agree with ya that $435 US / $499 Canadian is unbelievably high. And nobody in his/her right mind should go for it. But the initial poster is asking about it, so there are dealers out there trying to get it .

That is a pretty shady area to buy a truck from, there are alot of those little shitty dealerships in that area... stay away for that amout of money! Waterloo Nissan has a nice looking Molten Lava on the lot, 2002, 2003. Keep shopping.
