Well if you going to camp - keep in mind it might get kind of cold in nights - bring heater and stuff. Its pretty nippy right now here at nights, and Durango is lower than Ouray. But then - its after week of rains. We r getting to Riverside Inn&Cabins place - its on the north side of town, nearly at the exit. Weather Conditions In Ouray

Does anyone have room for 2 people in a condo?
Does anyone not have lodging and would like to share a place?
Thanks, Ron

Thanks, Ron I'm willing to share a place, I don't want to pay for a huge place if I'm only going to be using it to sleep in. The catch is you have to find the place, all the places I've emailed are taking their sweet time replying. Anybody?

I'll be back in the KOA again this year. Hopefully I won't get in trouble this year.

Two years ago, there were some issues in the KOA. I was mearly an innocent bystander  hanging out with a few guys from Arizona and one from Texas. "KOA Larry" did not like the fact that we started a big fire late at night, sitting around bs'ing, beer, laughter, language, etc.... We also had issues with being yelled at all the time. The people on dirt bikes roared through the campground, but if an Xterra drove 6 mph, he got bent out of shape. GOX 1 - was planning 1 day in town, but got there too late for the trail run. GOX 2- Stayed for a couple days - met the RMXC group GOX 3 - Stayed the week, then went to MOAB for a day. GOX 4 - we'll see what happens....

we enjoyed out koa xperience. koa larry was just doing his job, trying to keep things quiet for the non-gox crowd. 3/4 of the people there for the first few nights were not part of our get together. yes, he jumped on xterra drivers, but he also jumped on some of the rv drivers for going to fast. i appreciate his efforts, i have been in many a campground that had a loud group ruining everyone elses time.
we've stayed there two years in a row and will be doing so agin this year.

There are two of us attending GOX 2003 from the NCCX Club, and we are both staying at the KOA Campground...
Hopefully, they will place all the Xterras in the same general area.
See You There,

We called KOA Larry, "Crossguard Larry." He got on us too many times. One example: We had a "little" camp fire where the flames were only a foot tall because it was a T-pee design. We had plenty of rocks around it, nothing flammable and water on stand-by. He came over to tell us to put it down or out. He was standing next to us timing when we were in the hot tub. Right when it was like 9:58pm, he kicked us out. Now we just stay at the Aplenglow(sp?) ah, so nice. But last year I was playing the guitar too loud one night I guess and the cops came to the condo for a noise complaint from the neighbors. Damn, Ouray needs to lighten up! I love there! (I really do )
