Haven't been there in a long time, but be prepared to pay to get on to the beach - standard in Jersey.

Check the boardwalk, usually good cheesesteak stands.

i stayed in a bed and breakfast in Ocean City, NJ and drove to Wildwood for a day from there...ask Swampy and he'll give you the down low on it...

Why would you purposefully want to stay in Wildwood? I live in Ocean City, NJ which is about 20 miles or so north of Wildwood. There are so many nicer beach towns in Southern NJ. Like Avalon, Stone Harbor, Ocean City, Cape May and Sea Isle City.

If you really want to stay in Wildwood I suggest staying in North Wildwood or Wildwood Crest. Wildwood proper is a real sh|t hole. If you stay in the Crest check out the Adventurer Inn at www.adventurerinn.com. Tell them I referred you to them (Michael at Avalon Internet, I designed their web site). If you stay in North Wildwood check out Erin Shores Motel at www.erinshoresmotel.com. Tell them I referred you as well (I designed their web site as well). The Adventurer is a little more expensive, but is on the beach and has nicer accomodations. Erin Shores is decent, but not as nice. There is also the Bal Harbour Hotels (I forget which town they are in). Their hotel is very nice, also on the beach, but is the most expensive of those ones I listed, http://www.balharbourhotels.com. I did not design that site, but they know me there as well.

I hope that helped. Feel free to e-mail me at michael.girardo@avaloninternet.net for more info on the Wildwoods or any other shore town in South Jersey.

-Michael

That was a big help, Thanks!.. I used "Wildwood" as a generic area, (Canadian eh!) We haven't nailed a specific spot yet.. something calm to wind down for a week, heard a few good things about Cape May. We want to head there after ECXC and just roam around a bit.
