CALMINI Steering.....RIMs...HELP!

I posted earlier onthe CALMINI steering thread. I just went to my mechanic. He said the issue is not bushings, the issue is that my rims are rubbing against the point inside the rim where the tie rod adjustments connect. It first wore on my inside weights, now the rims themselves! Anyone heard of this?!!!!
FYI, I'm running BFG 32s on stock rims. When doing the research on changing my config I was led to belive that this combo (Calmini 3", BFG 32s, Calmini steering, stock rims) would work.
Any suggestion on replacement rims?

Weird. Your steering has nothing to do with this problem. Post some pics.

I had the same problem when I first got my SLR econo A-arms installed. The rims rubbed on the upper control arm when turned all the way to one side. A simple solution was to adjust the steering stops far enough out to prevent the rubbing.
I dont know if that will help with your situation, but give it a try. There are four steering stops, 2 per side. Cranky them out, and grease them up too..
Good luck

However, my Calmini upper control arm was contacting the inside of the rim...shaving the clip-on weights off (or possibly removing them...). I now have them put on tape weights, and adjusting the steering stop solves this contacting problem... ...If that's what you're really talking about.

Yes I have this problem,,,Adjust your wheel stops and you will be fine, the new problem is adjusting to you new LACK OF STEERING RANGE.
The problem is due to the new reduced range of motion since the Tie rod connections to the Idler and Pitman arms is no longer a dynamic radius path.
edit to keep on topic

My truck was rubbing with the SLR econo A-arms, not calmini's.. I was able to grind down the A-arms instead of adjusting the steering stops, when I was running 32"X11.5's on 15" rims. Now that Im running 33's I gave up and cranked the steering stops WAY out to ensure no rubbing.

I didnt know the turn radius would be reduced with the calmini and not the slr. That is a good reason to go slr in my opinion.

Sorry we need some pics to really see what it is you are talking about. It will make it easier for everyone. Sorry everyone, but I will not be able to post pics until after 23 May 05. I left for the Netherlands on Monday night before I was able to pick up my X. I drove in on Monday and saw it after my mechanic called me...but other work was being done on it... Again, I will post upon my return. Thanks for your patience.
