I've got the Warn hub fuse in now. Haven't blown it yet. But the fuse piece itself is very easy to replace.

Wish I had it this past spring. Had some spinning front tires suddenly catch traction on a rock, and ended up sending force down to the front diff where I blew the diff. A hub fuse should have prevented the damage from getting past the hub.

These were just being discussed a day or two ago on N4W. It seems like they blow too easily in a straight line and don't blow soon enough when your wheels are turned - at least that's what someone said...

It's a nice idea AAR.

But, Ken, if you HAD the hub fuse, you WOULD NOT have a front locker.

The Hub Fuse is a great idea. I really wish Warn would make a Hub conversion kit for the new X's.

We were looking at a conversion kit for my friend's XJ... wanna take a guess how much the cost? More than $1000. They're freakin' ridiculous. I guess that's not so bad on a new X... but on an old XJ that's like half of what the truck cost!

Yeah, it's expensive, but a new front diff for a new gen X is about $1500. If I spend $1000 to save a $1500 part it would be worth it. smile It would also give less rolling resistance on the new X's.
