I want Flowmaster on my X but I'm not quite sure which series I need. I had 40 series on my tacoma and it sounded WICKED! I want my X to sound beefy, not a rice burning Honda Civic sound, but a Throaty tone on cruise and throttle. PLEASE HELP!

I've always liked Allied MeanStreaks and Magnaflow for sound and performance. The Allied mufflers are a bit beefier for offroad and seem to hold up better. I've had them on 4 vehicles so far and really like them.

I just added a 40 series on the 04 Xterra, and it sounds very aggressive...like it a lot......have a 50 series on the Frontier...nice rumble on it too, but not nearly as loud as the X at low speeds.

Wont the Flowmaster mufflers also increase gas mileage or is that rumor???

just a rumor mine went up considerably. most people complain about mileage going down because their foot is on the floor just listening to that great sound. check out performance pedler on ebay. brand new 40 series for 37.00$.

LOL! Yeah...supposed help the engine be more efficient....but I have NEVER saved any gas on any veh that had a flo....cant stay out of the throttle long enough. Realistically, if you baby anything, whether its stock or a mild upgrade, you shouldn't notice much (if any) decrease in mileage. Just keep everything maintained.
