Sounds to good to be true. If it was true the automakers would have already jumped all over it to boost sales of higher mpg vehicles.

I purchased one of the magnet type fuel savers at a dealership in chiapas, mexico, the one that is placed around the fuel line before it enters the engine. However i did not check if it improved my gas mileage i just assumed it worked. I have been in google and find a lot of legal documents regarding these so called magnet fuel savers ect ect. So i trully question if these products actually help.......

its like the tornado fuel saver or something, youre better off throwing your money out the window...my friend wanted to buy a "performance chip" for his civic, it was literally a 10cent chip from radio shack in a plastic box that made the engine think more air was being delivered etc etc....and i dont want this to sound like i'm bashing or something, but for those who want to purchase these, do you honestly believe that youre going to get up to 15mpg more from an Xterra? thats more than 30mpg!

Really, without ANY investigation beyond reading their website, it's is obvious crap. You'll go faster and get better mileage alright, your wallet will be lighter!

Is your friend a gullible idiot? If so, you're a sadistic bastard for trying to get him to fall for this crap.

Or just bolt a 2x4 block to the floorboard under the gas pedal.

From what i read on the website it's main benefit is reduction of emmissions. The original poster made the claim that it could provide 10-15 mpg better, not the company.

"If you are looking for the MAGIC BULLET to fix damaged engines, give you tremendous fuel savings, make Cavaliers run like Corvettes and make a Ford Power Stroke Diesel out pull a Peterbilt with a 500+ hp CAT engine then you are looking at the wrong website. ECO Systems will only make your vehicle run at its peak performance with the fuel you are currently using."

I really doubt they would have forged all the recommendations from state agencies, which btw were very subjective. Statements like the oil looked cleaner, or the engine seems to run better, etc, etc...

I have the Vortex, the Eco 2, a rear spoiler, the fuel line magnet system, and one of each 12V adapter accessory from WalMart on my truck and now it goes faster, gets better gas mileage, and makes me more attractive to members of the opposite sex.

When the fuel passes through the unit it creates a catalytic reaction, breaking up the hydro carbon chains in the fuel, causing the vapor pressure to increase. This increase in vapor pressure causes the fuel to burn more completely in the combustion chamber.
Sounds like it works the same way as using acetone in your gas tank. The concept behind acetone is to reduce the surface tension so the droplets of fuel break up into smaller droplets, same volume of fuel but more drops = higher surface area = more of the fuel is burnt. I did try to acetone on the way back to CA from Moab, I got up to 22mpg, stock tires. Not saying it does work or that you should go get one, just saying that it could work and perhaps more research should be done it before knocking it down.

oh, as a side note, soe described the magnet idea as polorizing both the air and the fuel so they are attracted to each other to mix the air and fuel more throughly. IMO the ECO syste sounds way more legit and plausable. On the other hand if some one was to ionize the air...

I tried the acetone trick for a few tanks. 6oz per full tank, I averaged about 20 more miles to a tank (city driving). Nothing to write home about in my opinion.

You might have used too much, I used 4oz in the tank, I might do it again this weekend on my way up to Death Valley jsut to see how it does.
