I did a search already and didnt find an answer! I am looking at the throttle body spacers on 4x4parts and debating wether to buy one when I decide to get my snorkel. There were conflicting answers....is the TB spacer worth the money or not? Anyone have some solid dyno numbers to back up the claimed 5hp gain? Just wondering before I drop the 89.95 for the thing.

And if those posts aren't enough, go to Reagan's Xterra project and read about their install of the throttle body spacer. Reagan\'s Project Xterra, specifically the crappy throttle body spacer

Here's to hopin you don't waste your money on one.

I had one on my s-10 and wow what a difference. Not really. That thing wasnt worth the 80 bucks i paid for it. TO sum it up with a word CRAP+ a PITA to install.

If you want give me the 80 bucks, ill give you a rock. Thats about how much good it does.

Furthermore, can anyone actually feel a 5 hp diff?

It's tough to feel a 5hp gain. I think that's what the anodized-bling-bling-engine-gizmo manufacturers bank on. I feel more gain between a cold day and a hot day with my intake temps than most of these devices can give.

Here's an interesting exercise. Go to an aftermarket site that deals with the 3.3L and add up all of the "dyno confirmed" horsepower increases and you'll be happy to know that your engine can output nearly 320 horsepower! Caveat emptor.

I think the best thing I've seen is the Calmini Xterra with the Pathfinder's 3.5L @ 240hp. Then again...why not just buy the Pathy if you want 240 hp?

What is impressive though, is for a company (Reagan's) to do a review and tell it like it is. Too often one sees great reviews for products and reviewer has nothing negative to say about it. smile
