Freaking awesome! I just got back from the NOAS spring run in Harlan, KY. Disregarding mpg while offroading (duh!), all of my pavement miles added up to 14.9 mpg average. All the while with a full bed of caming gear, and pulling my pop-up camper... Not too shabby!

Last year, before the intake/exhaust upgrades, I averaged 8 mpg on virtually the same stretch of roadway, pulling the same amt. of gear.

I'm DEFINATELY liking my truck again!

For the record...are you taking the odometer reading and dividing the miles by the gallons taken to fill it up?

Or, are you taking the odometer reading, and multiplying it by the factor that corrects for your larger tire size first?

Also - were you driving any slower than the speedo said you were, knowing it was off due to the larger tires, or were you just driving at the speedo reading as if it were correct?

I try to keep track of these things.

TJ... You KNOW I'm compensating for the tire difference... Stock came w/ 30" tires. I've got 33"s, nos... 10% increase. I always multiply my miles by 1.1 to compensate & then divide by gallons added. I always fill 'til the gas spills out so I know it's full (yeah, yeah, you're not supposed to do that, yadda yadda... but that's the only way you can know you're putting in the same amt. of fuel every time).

Trust me. I know how to check my mileage... And yes, it most definately has improved w/ the upgrades. Not only that, but I didn't have to take the O/D off nearly as much for the hills as I used to, which that alone would make a humungous difference in mileage. But, the ability to run w/ O/D through the hills w/o the transmission searching for a gear is directly attributed to the upgrades.

I'm feeling better. I think something changed in the gas here. I was getting about 12.5mpg I got 15.7 recently.

It's hanging around 14.5 and most of it is city driving.

I'm getting 18mpg...but I am cruising at 55mph and just me in the X, with a little surge for a short distance for acceleration once ina great while. This tank I'll see if it gets any better with the lead foot.

Yeah I am getting about the same on the Hwy at 55mph (90km/h). On a recent trip to Calgary from Vancouver mileage was anywhere from 17-20mpg. 20 was a reall surprise but we recorded all the numbers and triple checked. It was most likely the section on Hwy descending from the summit of the mountain pass! Heheheh, maybe a tail wind too!
