I installed the CalMini UCA's and went in for an alignment. When I got it back they told me that they could get the camber right, but they couldn't get caster into spec. Here are the numbers from the spec sheet they gave me:

Front left
Camber = 0.5 (Spec 0.1 - 1.1)
Caster = 0.4 (Spec 1.7 - 2.7)

Front right
Camber = 0.2 (Spec 0.1 - 1.1)
Caster = 0.3 (Spec 1.7 - 2.7)

Deos this sound right, or should I take it to a different place for an alignment?

How are the adjustment bolts set? Do you have any room for more adjustment? I should have mine back from the shop in a couple hours to see how well it aligned.

Elroy,

It does sound fine. You won't be able to get the caster into factory specs and it really isn't a factor on a lifted vehicle, just make sure they are even or match.

Your camber is fine and for some reason, the right side won't go much lower than .5 and this could be due to centerlink wear.

Not sure about the aftermarket steering setups but I do know with my heim centerlink I can get my camber to go negative.

Hope this helps,

MVM

MVM,

Thanks a lot! I was a bit worried (since I don't know squat about aligning a vehicle) Glad to see that I shouldn't need to go else where.

Also, when I got it back it pulled to the right a bit... so I took it back (Not knowing the info I shared above) and they said they flipped the tires (right to left, left to right) and now it pulls to the left. They say that I must have a bad tire. How could I remedy this? (Other than buying new tires)

Elroy,

To my knowledge our trucks have a natural tendancy to pull to the right anyway.

My local Nissan Dealer did the same thing (flop tires) when I went back into complain about the tow being off. Not sure if you can do anything about it but do know the larger and wider your tires the less you will notice it.

Since going from a 32-11.50 to a 33-12.50 I can let go of my steering wheel and my truck will track straight as an arrow down the road. I do all my own alignments in my driveway by eyeball and have been for a while now...it's my opinion that the wider tire allows this.

Bet it drives nice, huh? I'd keep that guy as an aligment specialist, those numbers look really tight.

Rodney at D&D Tire in Lawrence KS is a great guy. I've bought beer for Rodney when I've run into him at the bar. He's been with me through all the troubles with alignments.
