I have a Calmini 3" suspension lift on my 2002 Frontier. I believe the Xterra suspension is pretty identical so I am posting here. Been looking to slap on some better shocks as my ride is really rough on the road, it rules off though. So why not go crazy and get the 7100s. But I have yet to see somebody install a rear set without cutting the bed apart and installing shock hoops. I measured my Calmini shocks and got 5/8" holes, 14.5" collapsed and 24" extended eye to eye which equals 9.5" of travel. I see Bilstein has the 7100s with the reservoir in 10" of travel, 24.29" extended and 14.06" collapsed which I think should fit perrrrrrfectly without modification other than deciding where to mount the reservoirs. The model number is AK7110SB. I spend most of my time on the road but want a capable shock should I decided to catch some air and I want a smoother ride. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just this morning I ordered the 5150s for the rear in a 10" stroke. I think the 7100s will be overkill unless you are jumping your truck routinely or running 80-100mph across the desert all the time. Most people have 5100s all around and find those more than adequate. My truck is an overweight fat pig and the +20% 5100s weren't really enough me.
