I wanted to know if anyone had these on the X . If so how is the ride on and off-road? If anyone has pictures that would be a plus. Would like to see what they look like on. Are you happy with these shocks? Or are the RSX 9000 worth the money. I found them for $300 and change and the RS 5000 for $146 for all 4.

Thanks Kevin

I have the 9000 on the front and love them. [ThumbsUp]

The only problem I had was the boot was way too big and It was a struggle to bring it down far enough on the shock body to make it look right. Also I had to punch new breathing holes so it would not split or pop under compression.

Sorry no camera for the weekend the wife has it out of town. wink

Edited to add, I run them at Position 3 for Off road and 5 for on. Seems to work well for an otherwise stock X. Good luck on deciding. [ThumbsUp]

I use the 5000's they are excellent for the Xterra. Have had no problems witht them and they are affordable, the 9K in my opinion are nice but a bit of an overkill.

I had the 5000's on 4 or 5 years ago. Hated them. Switched to Bilstein's front and Rancho 99116's on the rear. The 90000's are worth the money IMHO

PS: my 4x4 guru recommends removing the boots. His view is that all they do is trap mud and dirt.

I've only had mine on since June, I'm pretty happy so far and I take my truck out often.

Go with Rancho 9000's or Bilsteins-
Rancho 5000's are really stiff (Had them on my Tacoma - and gave them away)

be careful with the boots on the 9k's.. I have a bad rusting problem on the top of the shock body, under the boot.. seems the boot keeps the water in, better then the crap out..
