I seem to have this problem with IE... When I'm browsing all of a sudden it would say "IE has encountered an error and needs to close..."

I've run registry mechs, removed adware, spyware, checked disk for errors and what not, anything else I can try before reinstalling Windows or IE?

You can try downloading and reapplying the latest service pack for your version of IE, fixed a couple of machines this way....

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en

Make sure you download the correct version though

If it just started happening (and you have Windows XP), take a look at your system restore points to see what's changed. Could be you installed something/removed something that started causing the problem.

Go to "Start"->programs->access.->sys. tools->system restore

Then select "restore to earlier time" and hit next, then click on each of your restore points on the little calendar, noting what changes might have occured. If you see any obvious items, like, "Removed patch for IE" or something, then try rolling back to that version.

THere have been no changes prior to the problem occuring; I looked into that as well; still stumped.

Just now it did it to me 4 times in a row as soon as I access IE.

I have used FireFox before and wasn't too impressed but will probably switch to it if this keeps happening.

Thanks all.

Download and install. Sounds like you have some uninvited guests.

Thanks, I have done that before and didn't help.

I switched back to FireFox and so far so good.
