Yes.. I don't think it has been discussed either. Buley is talking about the vents in the interior plastic.

xterrock - are you incorrectly assuming Buley was asking about the exterior flaps to make it easier to close the doors?

If you turn on the radio, is there music coming from the vents?

Welp, having seen "naked" Xterra's being built at the factory, they are more than likely for the air exhaust vents. I remember seeing them on the outside of the truck on passenger side for sure, but not sure if they are on the drivers side too.

Take your rear bumper off and you will see them. They have funky looking one-way valves so they used for exhaust only.
