Just got off the phone with AC and the rear diff skid is only for the C200 axle. The Dana 44 axle is being developed and will be out in 2-3 weeks.

They said they'd e-mail me as soon as the Dana 44 skid was available; I'll post something when I know for sure.

Cool, I just read Rinky's post in AZXC forum. It is all good. They will send one out to me when they are ready. I was told only 3 people were involved with the recall of the skid.

Ok, I know its a Dana 44 rear, so there is literally dozens of skids availabe being such a common rear end in the Jeep/off-road realm. Does anyone know if there is any difference to the housing on our X's that would prevent us fom using availabe Dana 44 skid products? If there isn't Nth degree mobility, Poison Spyder Customs, and Dynatrac make a host of diff guards, sliders and protection for the Dana 44 rear end.

3 points-

1. The C200 diff doesn't really need a skid so bad, its a tough design.

2. The D44 on the New X is NOT the same as the D44 on the jeeps (Bastardized it).

3. The X's D44 (And the Jeep's...) NEEDs the skid MORE, as its a more vulnerable design.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. According to our posts I ordered mine just before you and I still haven't seen any news on the order so I was getting anxious.

Talked to AC today I was the 3rd person but they did read the vehicle description so they didn't send it out. They told me about 2 weeks till they go out.

I don't think they are going to make one. The one for the C200 is probably for another vehicle and happens to fit the X and Fronty. They are real good about selling other peoples stuff under their own name.
