Drove from Austin to the Fort Davis mountains this weekend for a spot of mtb. We drove up to the highest spot (about 7,200ft) accessible where we stayed in a trailer overlooking the mountains and plains of south Texas. Awesome stuff. My mate was in a F150 4x4 which needless to say went up no problem.
The 4x2 handled the climb especially well considering the gnarly state of the dirt track. I was very surprised that I made it up. Lucky for me there was minimal mud otherwise I’d have been hosed. Plenty of that bouncing action on the steep sections. Loved it!

How long a drive was that. A bunch of use plan on doing some bike riding/running in that area this fall.

Where are the pictures?

Cool stuff! That milky way shot is incredible. That's one part of Texas I've yet to see. Definitely on the list now.

I was extremely pleased with the 4x2 capabilities. I had mine for a year before I traded up and it got me places I never thought a 2wd vehicle would.
