An upgraded Idler arm, at a minimum, a brace for it. Calmini makes a sturdy steering system upgrade.

I don't know if you're into Pre-Running at all, but if so, then skid plates would be a smart investment. I'd keep away from the heavy bumpers if you're into that as well. Especially being 2x4 and all.

Also, upgrade the tow hooks. Especially if you're venturing through heavy 4x4 country, or a lot of mud.

Good tires are a must. All Terrains, even some Mud Terrains, would be helpfull.

A friend with a 4WD, for starters. Beyond that, good ATs. Don't get MT's, you'll just tear things (ie the trail) up. Plenty of armor and protection. Anything that can pull a bit more torque out of the engine. The 4x2's biggest weakness is a lack of a low gear, so steep inclines are the most difficult thing to pass. The engine will try to stall causing you to lose momentum and traction once the weight transfers.

Stick to things that don't bang you up too much, stay out of sand and remember to only go "as fast as you need to, as slow as you can."

A 2 wheel drive vehicle set up for high speed off road driving.

You know the Baja 500? Half those vehicles are only 2 wheel drive. They're mostly pre-runners.

A transfer case, front diff, axles, and hubs.

Well, it would help if you HAD something in the front end. I'm assuming you have a 2wd because you posted here.
