When we stop getting 12" a week of snow on the trails. I've tried to get out a few times but need to test it thoroughly on dry trails prior to snow. I also need some spare axle shafts.

You know I love the snow. My rig just ain't built for it with 35s and stock D44 shafts. The grip-slip-grip will pop em in a heartbeat.

It snowed 18" here (above 8k ft) on Monday. I'm not going out just to screw up my junk before Moab.

Hopefully it will dry up enough for a test run soon.

Yeah - the first time out should not be under worst case conditions.

You're better off waiting for things to dry out.

I'd wait too.

Four wheel parts was and maybe still is running a package deal for new upgraded cro-mo axles for the D44. I think they were on special for a while.

My GF was looking into them for her truck so she could upgrade and use the stockers as spares. She checked into them and thinks they'd be a good option because, in the case of something going wrong, they'd twist at the splines rather than snap catastrophically.

TRIAL BY FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!! J/K

I cant blame you for not wanting to test it in the snow. It can be a real disaster. I blew a Premium hub and short side Ujoint yesterday recovering people from the mud and slush.
