I will be running my annual Sierra Carnage expedition in the Northern Sierras this year. This will be my first year leading with my 05 Xterra.

This is an very difficult and advanced yearly trip to the most scenic locations of the high Sierras. Driver experience, no open rear diff, over sized tires, rock sliders, and extra fuel are required. As well as the ability to camp on the trail and be self sufficient for a week. Spare parts are important.

This year I am planning on running the following trails.
1. Barrett lake
2. Hell Hole
3. Rubicon/ Buck Island/ Rubicon Springs
4. Signal Peak/Tuba River
5. Fordyce/ 2 nights at the waterfall campsite

If you are interested, feel free to ask questions or email me.

Wow! Good luck man! Looks like you have your work cut out for you! Hopefully you'll have a beta-test run locally with all of your new mods installed before heading out for this torture test. What spare parts do you plan to bring?

My Xterra gets built in March, and run in Utah at Easter, as well as a few other trips. With an unknown vehicle I will probably carry 1 front CV axle since they are interchangable and tie rod. Those are the most common items to break in the Sierras in general.

You doing the buildup yourself or taking to a shop? That's a lot of work to accomplish as a DIY'er in just one month.

You busted me, its going to a shop [Finger] Seriously though, I can fix anything on the trail because I have to....but I am either too lazy and or just not talented enough to do all that work. Not to mention the whole time issue.....
