Katemcy is currently closed for hunting season. Who would be up for a trip when they reopen? Since it is a rather lengthy drive for us from DFW - but not you Austin-ites, it would have to be a weekend trip.

Say in February or March.

I know that is a waaaaaays off, and someone else may have the keys to the club then. I was just thinking it may be nice to plan something a little in advance so we can maximize participation and get people to come who cannot generally make it on short notice.

So, who's up for K-rocks when they reopen?

The website does not mention it but they have a mean ditch in the reception area along with a monster RTI ramp.

Anyone that wheels or wants too should attend. There is very easy to destructive rides and we can do the all on any trip. Just go around obstacles you do not like as there is plenty of room.

Camping will probably be nice then too.

Katemcy does not have their 2005 schedule up yet. Once they decide which weekend they are open in Feb we will go. We really have no say in what weekend they will be open for the month...

There are some guys from the Forth Worh / Dallas areas, mostly heep guys and a Tacoma Club from Tx.

Here is the deal with Katemcy this year. Their February event on the 19th is a closed event for dirt bike guys. They said they could open up for us the week before or after provided we adhere to the following 'new' regulations for this year. Pay $1500 for a closed event (no), or have 30 - THIRTY - (instead of last year's ten) trucks show up to open the park (highly unlikely).

So, it looks like Katemcy will have to be pushed to March's open weekend.

How bout a big club run to the Den in SA in Feb? People have been asking to go, and it looks like we have club members familiar with the area. (I am just trying to find an alternative to Barnwell.)
