know its the holidays and time is tight. anybody up for either 12/12 or 12/19 or both? both are sundays. the saturdays (12/11-12/18) i can make with some notice. its a pretty good drive from dfw and houston, not to bad for austinites, but everybody's invited. not to familiar with den, so hopefully pat or rick can make it..... if not i will domy best not to get us lost....

Ummm, proly the 19th for us. We'll proly go sooner but you know us - we're spontaneous.

BTW, we're moving I believe 13th of Dec. over to Bulverde and 1604. Going from 1067sqft to 2630sqft!

But back to the original, yep! It's killing me! I gotta go wheel! May go in the morning but then again we're off for Thanksgiving week. Anyone available to go during next week?

It's been damp and rainy for the past 2 weeks in S.A...I'm pretty sure it's pretty flooded at the Den....Hopefully it will dry out a little come December....

Guys I went yesterday for awhile. You guys would've been hard pressed to go as far as we did. I actually had to tug on a Toy a couple of times. Water was over the hubs in many occasions and once or twice I think it may have been almost to the top of the tires.

Deeeep water! Mud wasn't a problem. We did finally give up when the rain started to intensify. Didn't wanna get stuck in a flash flood.

It is cool though!

I can imagine the den looks pretty bad. Right now its been raining since like 3am or so non stop. And its been really really bad since about 8am here in new braunfels. Everything that can flood is flooded around me frown

So I imagine after today the den will probably be pretty worse off than it was sunday.

Got out at lunch to survey the dmg around my apt frown I had to actually use 4-H to friggin get in and out of my complex! The water was over a foot deep in the back end of the complex where I park.

Here are a few shots of the area around me that usually floods, and a few of the back end of my complex after the rain slowed down enough to let the drainage catch up.

Hey I heard a terrible story that you cant drink beer while tubing the Guadalupe anymore. Is that true? Havent been in several years since I got married and had kids. The beer cooler used to have its own tube!

We went twice last year... the cooler tubes still exist and the drinking is definitely still a big part.... BUT... they do have spots where a bunch of yellow-shirted cops wade out into the river and stop people and bust them... particularly on the Comal when we did it the second time there were cops all over the place watching everyone like hawks. It was apparently okay to drink... because we were doing it right in front of them... but I assume they were waiting for anyone to show the slightest sign of having had too much or getting rowdy. frown

Jasun - you totally need to get a kayak and paddle around in the parking lot... that would be cool.

hahah Glen I hadn't thought of that. When it gets bad the water is about 1.5 feet deep all the way around the corner to the front of the apt. Could be a good work out smile

Hey dirtguy, you're moving to my neck of the woods. Maybe I'll bump into you at HEb. Hint, don't go to the one at 1604 and 281. everyone who shops and works there are snobs. thousand oaks and jonesmalstsberger is a nice store.

I hoping this rain lets up soon. I havent gone to the den yet!

Fishermom,

My parents live close to Bulverde and Thousand Oaks. I teach in Stone Oak so yes, that HEB at 281 is horrible. Busy all the time. I hear the one over at Nac. and O'Connor is a pretty nice one.

I do like the one at Thousand and Jones, too.

Patrick

p.s. Still looking forward to the 19th! We should be completely in the house by the 12th. We're having someone move us. Got a good price and that way our friends won't have a chance at over-doing it.
