You'll get to know your VW dealer well. Really well! Our dealership sells VW too, and they all know the customers by first name. A 5 item repair list isn't unheard of by the time the first oil change is due. Wish you luck!

Funny. I just traded my '99 VW Golf for an '06 X. Have you checked out VW Vortex yet?

Time to un-pimp the auto! V-Dub, holding it down on the engineering tip, yaaa! I really hope that commercial isn't what made you decide to get a VW!

Have fun with your ride. Hope you don't mind getting headaches and all from all of the problems you are going to have with that one.

Actually, isn't the same actor that plays the Russion Cosmonaut on the space station in Armegeddon and also the Russian "X" and club owner in Bad Boyz II? Why the VW hatin', btw? No brand has no problems. Stop the hate. Just congratulate him on helping to clean up the environment that my Mustang pollutes so efficiently. I joked once that I should have gotten my personalized license plate to be GRSPLTR "gross polluter" but settled on something better. BTW, that plate, was available when I looked into it. B.

Just a few comments on VW. Both of my parents own VWs and have had zero problems with them. Im not positive about years, but my dad has a turbo diesel Jetta and my mom has the turbo passat. Both ride very well and the diesel jetta gets between 45-50 mpg. Im a fan.

I've had a VW for about 3 years now. I've had to put, oh, maybe a couple or three hundred in it over that time (in repairs). Not bad for a 37 year old car.

I had an '00 GTI 1.8T that I really didn't take care of and had not a single problem with it, save the oil filter clogging after 30+ thousand miles of not changing to oil...still got the oil changed, new filter, and she was good to go.
since then I have learned how to properly take care of a vehicle, and I've been taking great care of the X.

Now THATS a VW! I actually almost bought a '67 last week! Very cool! Preston, you have lost your mind. Too much Brokeback Mountain for you apparently. If we see you driving around in your "Herbie the Love Bug" replica sniffing the rose in your bud vase, we will have to completly dis-own you and remove any record of you from the club.

Well I guess you should be using this site now: http://www.myvwlemon.com/ I just got rid of my VW, and I am so happy not to deal with the hassle of a poorly wired vehicle

Xtera03 - You'll LOVE the VW. My wife drives an '04 Jetta 1.8T and we've had NO problems with it. OK, there was a recall on the seat heaters, but that was it. Oil changes every 5K and no other maintenance.
BTW - I think her Jetta is a BLAST to drive. Handles really well and when you kick it and the turbo kicks in, hang on! That thing will go!
Best of luck to ya!

I love the car so far. Of course it has only been a couple of days. It is very peppy. It handles great and is nice and roomy. My fiance was sad to see the X go also. So when it is time to get the second car I am going back to Nissan to check out the new X's. I will be back in one before we know it. I will be back again on this site asking for help on some mods. But for now I will enjoy the 400 miles I get on one tank full of gas.

My wife has a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. That little car is to friggin' peppy, it's cool. It also sold me on the genius of seat heaters.
It's basically the same thing as a Jetta. But I think I like the lines of the Audi better than the Jetta.
I think overall VW/Audi makes a pretty good product. Let's all remember that no manufacturer has achieved perfection in one way or another. All of them have their own little problems or quirks.
