OK, first of all, I searched everywhere on the board I could think of for anything on this topic and came up dry. /disclaimer

Anyway, I've noticed a majority of X's both driving around locally and in pics on this board, etc. have the "NISSAN" lettering on the roof rack wind deflector painted white. The lettering on mine is unpainted.

What's up with that? SE-only? I can't believe most of the X owners around here (typically mall-runners) would have taken the trouble to paint them.

I'm on the fence on whether I like mine somewhat "unfestooned" or not. Anyone else taken an unpainted deflector and painted/decaled it?

hey Malcolm, it depends on the year of the X. 2000 had paint
2001 no paint
2002 had paint

My '03 has (had, rather...put in Sean's deflector mod) white stickers that spelled out "NISSAN." Just pull off the non-white stickers and put on a "NISSAN" bumper sticker if you want it to be white

While on this subject...I'm looking for a decal or sticker that has "XTERRA" just like the "NISSAN" sticker (that's painted) on the Roof Wind Deflector, so I could stick it on the opposite side of the deflector...anybody knows where I can get a hold of these?

Uhm, well, mine's a 2000. Go figure.

2000 was half and half, my 2000 has the lettering, others don't.

Tell him you want a sticker for your roof rack and that it is the same as the Frontier. He can make them in any color for you. I added one to my Thor Mod. Hope that helps.
