Does Back to Black help if you have a grey bumper?

Yes it does, but only on the plastic parts.

One of the responses to that thread was "303 Aerospace protectant" after reading I went and got some at my local west marine supply. The guy at the store said that it is the best stuff that they sell for plastics and works wonders on marine boats. He said that he doesn't know of a bette protectant. I haven't tried it yet but mine is new and not faded.

Hey TLR,
"303" is a protectant. Put it on now and your plastic WON'T fade nearly as bad or as fast. Keeps it looking new.

i use a wax called klasse all in one that i bought over the internets. i put it on all smooth plastic and my paint and it works like a champ.

it takes the grime off the front bumper and the plastic pieces making up the grill.

i then put b2b on top of it to make it look richer.

it's great on paint too. i follow it up with some s100 carnuba/bees wax and the silver really shines.

I've used 303 for years on all my cars' vinyl and rubber parts. Great stuff that doesn't leave the oily shine that Armoral does. First thing I did when I got the new X home was to go over all the rubber with 303. Also will keep your windshield wipers like new.

Eh.. I just used WD40. :p

Get it dirty, wash and re-apply the WD.

Just picked up a bottle of 303 protectant yesterday (after all of the suggestions here) and it works like a charm. It's a little on the pricey side but for the protection I guess you can't complain. I went over all of the door seals and interior plastic and plan on tackling the exterior plastic this afternoon. I also have Sonus Eclipse (which you can get from Autopia) that works pretty good as well.

Although I like to get the X dirty I also would like to keep it for a while (thus the time spent cleaning)

I use this stuff called Trim Shine. It's kind of like Armour All for the bumpers and trim.

I washed them, unscrewed them from the truck.

Then sprayed them down with Rustoleum Hammered Black paint! looks great even after a few weeks and after washing the mud off.

This stuff works! It's call "FOREVER BLACK". Found it on the internet, many places have it but not any local part stores. My bumpers were streaked and gray with the other products so I decided to try this. It is a water based dye, yes, water based. I was very pleased with the outcome. It will take 2 coats, drys in about 10 min. and leaves your plastic black again. You can also go over it with armorall after it drys. Hope this helps. Small kit comes with cleaner and enough to do the hole truck and then some.
