I'd love to have neoprene cleaner, but I just bought some used seat covers and want to wash a few stains out before I put them in. Will regular washing with regular laundry detergent help/hurt at all?

I've washed mine about 3 times in the 2+ years I've had them.. according to my Mrs.. Machine under delicate.. pre spray any real stains, and air dry. They are holding up great.

First time I washed mine they were covered in mud and still had spots after removing from the washing machine.

I took a brush and scrubbed them with water for about a minute, threw them back in the washer and they came out like new.

if you dont want to go thru the hassle of removing the covers for some small stains etc, ive used oxyclean diluted in water on them, a cloth soaked in it, sit for a few minutes and then dab it dry/ air dry , back to new smile

For the first year of owning my neoprene covers, I used a product by Blue Coral. It was called Dri-Clean, in a blue can. It's like dry cleaning. you spray it on, let it foam, then scrub it with a dry brush and viola, the stains came out. But after a year, I threw mine in the washer twice. They came out good, but one of the back cover's seams unraveled. I had to take it to a upholstery guy to re-sew the seam (since neoprene doesn't fit in a regular sewing machine!).
