What is the best product to use on road tar.
I have tried a few that say won't harm the paint, but they also don't take off the tar.
Thanks for the help!

On older cars, I just used to use kerosene on a rag. Let it soak a minute then wipe it off. Wash, wax.

They use this method on tractors, AFAIK...

Simple Green. I'm convinced the stuff is better than Duck tape. Not to be confuse with it's useless half brother duct tape.

I've always used WD40, just make sure you use a SOFT rag and wash off the residue

I've used Simple Green on my tires (white wall lettering), and on certain spots on my wheels. I used it once on a problem spot on the lower area of the textured paint and it worked.

Thanks for the help, I've never tried Simple Green before. Sounds like a "do it all" type product.

Try the other suggestions first. If they don't work, try using a clay bar. It's more work but they work great. You should be able to find one at most auto parts stores.
