Goodbye Xterra, Good Riddance.

Before everybody flames me, I'm talking about my Xterra, not yours. I'm sure yours is lovely. Mine was a pile of shit. After a collective month in the shop during 18 months of ownership, Nissan finally relented and took her back. Yes, I'll miss my first four wheeler. No, I won't miss my Nissan service rep. Nor will I miss the guy at the car rental agency. Nor will I miss the burning electrical smell, the A/C that only worked on cold days, the stereo that wouldn't play half my CD's and only after it heated up, the weird noises, or the squirting fluids and mysterious fires. Will I buy Nissan again? Hell no. Did I love my Xterra? Yes. But that love was unrequited. Bye bye, baby. I'll miss you.

Sorry dude - every company makes a lemon here and there and you just got unlucky I guess.
What are you going to replace it with?

Sorry to hear about your lemon, man. I agree with the previous poster, though; you just got a bad one.

That's unfortunate, Sharham. Hope whatever you end up with treats you better.
Stick around XOC, won't you?

Nope, the next truck I buy will have been built by some ancestor-worshipping kamikaze midget, not some PBR-drunk Bubba with a third-grade education and a $40 a day meth habit to support. Yes, I'm kidding. Enjoy your warranties, gentlemen!!!

Well, though it's always sad to lose an Xterra owner, I know that yours was far less than perfect. Sorry for the bad luck, hopefully it will end here and you'll be able to join wheelin' in a Land Cruiser. Perhaps you'd even be able to tag along HERE . I must say though that I enjoyed shopping "'Shahramco's', going-out-of-business-everything-must-go-once-in-a-lifetime-blowout-sale". The bargains were good, the merchandise first rate, and the friendly, helpful customer service personel, a cut above. Hopefully you'll still lurk about here, you're humor, wit, and wisdom are a refeshing change of pace when compared to the bulk of the internet (though offering little in the way of either penis enlargement or mortgage rate reduction...). As for the jibe about republican spelling, well, I'm going to let that one slide... MV

Thanks, y'all...
Yeah, I picked up a '96 FZJ80, factory lockers (front, rear, and center) and lovingly maintained w/90k pavement only miles for $10.5k.
Tomorrow: 33" BFG KO's, snorkel, ARB bumper.
Seats eight, huge sunroof, leather and lace.
Oh yeah, it's a friggin' wet dream all right.

Yeah, I'll get some pics as soon as I have the tires on it. I've recently decided against the lift (for now). Economical type reasons...plus I want to wheel it to see what it really needs. I figure the tires, the ARB bumper and the snorkel are good little startup mods.

What’s wrong with you knuckle head ? Couldn’t stand the heat of constantly fixing something so you jump ship, man some people Welcome to the crusher club once you go solid you’ll never want to go back Yeah get the tires now you can always lift more later but I've seen BFG A/T KO 305/70/R16's fit without a lift on a couple of other 80's. If you want a basic cheap'o 1” lift you can go with spacers. For the front use 1” rubber ones from Mr. Gasket http://www.summitracing.com/ for $9.95 each. Catalog number mrg-1285. For the rear OME spring trim spacers stacked up to your desired amount, they come in 5-mm and 10-mm. A bit more than Mr. Gasket stuff buy cheap nonetheless. Get a center diff switch that way you manually select when to lock the center, use low range with the ABS if need like in snow/ice, lockers in either range, etc. Mine was about $25 used from SOR but you may have to call since they don’t seem to be in there on-line catalog any longer: http://www.sor.com/ Otherwise see http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/prod...20Lock%20Switch Ah let the good times begin Brian
