Rainbows are a sign of good luck/fortune and we sure had some during our past weekend journey to Sedona AZ to visit some old friends.

Twitch in the pathy, our kids, and friends in the white X had a great time exploring some of the local trails such as Broken Arrow, Soldiers Pass, Pipeline, “Mystic” and some others. Sedona AZ is a stunning beautiful place with red rock vistas all around it seems and we really enjoyed the scenery, lots of hiking trails, friendly people, geo-caching opportunities, sites, etc

One of things that surprised me the most is the amount of tourism is this small town, seems like the “mystic” crowd and the jeep tour companies out number the locals by a wide majority. We must have come across two-dozen jeep tours in a single day.

Anyway the trails where moderate to easy but very interesting. With some wet weather mixed in the pipeline trail was a bit of work for my stock suspension X with balding AT's when we descended down a rocky hill trough a ravine and up the other rocky side. The rain has coming down pretty good and my tires where slicks at times but I managed to slip & slide my way up and then we where rewarded with a spectacular double rainbow that spanned the horizon. I've seen a couple of other double rainbows in my life but this one was the largest and most beautiful I've ever viewed, it came out once again just as we finished the trail :-)

Hey Brian, thanks for letting us know you'd be dropping by. Not that it would have matterd, because we were checking out the same Rainbow(s) 130-150 miles and 4-5000 feet elevation difference at the same time after running Martinez Canyon trail. (Something you'd have definitely found to be less crowded, and much more challenging laugh )

***Hang on for a pic***

Edit- mad I can't retrieve the pic from another site. But yeah, smile it was amazing. Sedona doesn't get much better than when its cool and foggy, a little wet, something special indeed. You guys picked an excellent dday to go.

That first pic is fantastic, what's the original resolution on it? That would make some sweet wallpaper...

Great shots Brian... I actually was up at Sedona earlier this year... We stopped by and hiked at one of the rock formations... I forgot what it was called... Anyhoo... We parked next to a white Xterra that had an XOC logo on it... So we started at the base and my wife and I ran into the couple who owned that Xterra... They were contemplating on buying a place in Sedona... The guy mentioned that he'd probably work for one of the offroading companies...

Anyways, those pictures reminded me of our visit... Sedona is absolutely one of the most beautiful places I've seen... Again, great shots Brian... [ThumbsUp]

DBAX…10-4 on that, kind of an impromptu deal to spend some time with friends rather then a wheelin' centric trip

When I have more time I'll be back [LOL] want to hit those Florence jct. trails…terminator, annihilator, or whatever those challenging rock crawling trails are and hook up with you guys, maybe in Jan laugh

Big…How's that throttle body spacer working out :p

OffroadX…Yeah 2.2k x 1.7k what size are you looking for?

Air…small world my man that's who we were staying with…beautiful newer house with a view for about ½ of what you pay out here for less space.

Hawk…yeah the 1st of many mods laugh been really happy with the black hawk, you took good care of it [ThumbsUp] thanks again.

Brian
