Same deal for my 32x11.50 ATs as well, plus a $13 each road hazard, which has paid off already in a free new tire after one got cut.
The 265/70R16 is a smaller tire, with less material needed to produce it, yet because it's a 16" size it costs much more than the same width/diameter 15" tire. Screw that.
