Today my brakes started acting up. When I'm driving I can faintly hear something that sounds like a slight metal on metal rub, and when I'm trying to come to a stop in traffic my brakes start grinding when i get below about 10 mph. Since I have to do a lot of city driving, this has happened quite a lot. Has this happened to anyone else? Or, might anyone know what is causing this?

Your pads are shot, time for new ones.

I have the same problem except I just got brake service (@ 20,000 replaced old, resurfaced rotors and cleaned rear brakes). Never had the problem before with my old pads. What is it?
