I'm about one week away from ordering the TrXus M/T 31x10.50x15 tires. Does anyone know anything good or bad about these tires? I was looking for a siped M/T and the Trxus seems to be the best value.

Thanks

I know that OK4WD (http://www.ok4wd.com/) has them, as well as Tyres International (http://www.tyres1.com/browse/browseT.html). I sent OK4WD mail and the people that have bought them so far have been very happy. The TrXus sits in between a BFG AT and a BFG MT as far as functionality. Which is the perfect place for me, doing the road driving I do. They are rated 10ply, which, if true, is awesome. The 31x10.5R15 are due out any day now. I'd like to know exactly the OD of the 31's as most Interco 31's are like 31.5" diameter.
I'm waiting for a review in 4Wheel&Offroad or FourWheeler before I buy. Five tires of the wrong type is not where I want to be.

Take a look again the Truxxus is a more aggressive tire than the BFG Mud, it has better lug shape, lugs that wrap over the sides, much better sidewall strength and siping (the BFG does not) which is great for rain, ice, snow and for rock crawling. www.intercotire.com/trxus.htm

I'm just paraphrasing what I was told (so as not to violate the senders copyright, but I digress). What you say is true, though the spacing between lugs is smaller when you compare it to Interco's other tires, SSR or and of the TSL's. So that may be the impetus on the tire comment.

Here's another pic:

Sure it is smaller than almost any other Interco tire but that is by design, they are going after Goodyear/BFG customers. If I were not getting SSR's I would look into this tire.

Well, it's working. I'm more interested in this tire than BFG AT or any F'n Goodyear Tire. Timely on Interco's part, as I started looking at ProComp MT's a couple months ago.

Are the TrXus tires radial like the SSR's. Since they are being compared to BFG & G/Y I'm guessing they probably are. I'm looking at replacing my BFG LT's with a more aggressive tire that has good wet traction. Need good wet traction since it rains quite a bit here in Fl.

When I was in Florida last month, all the 4-by's were running BFG AT's. Unless you plan on swampin' or going up north for some mud, these probably work out real well for you.

PS, doesn't anyone use Fla for an abbreviation anymore?

A lot of people around here run BFG ATs. You can usually tell the fisherman (for some reason they all seem to run ATs, which are not good in the sand) from the offroaders by the tires they run. Most of the real offroadsters around here run Swampers. I've seen Thornbirds, TSLs, Boggers & SSRs.

PS. Fla isn't an abbreviation for Florida, FL is.

Actually, FL is a postal abbreviation and Fla. is also still used. Just went over this with our proofer here at work a few weeks ago.

I just placed my order for a set of 31x10.50x15 Interco TrXus MT's. They were $175 each + tax. I should get them in a week or so, I'll post pics when they are installed.

Ouch, that's expensive. IIRC, I saw them priced under $130 each in an ad in the May Four-Wheeler mag...

He's talking in Canadian Dollars. Tyres1.com has them listed for about $107 US.

Just got my Trxus tires mounted. 31x10.5x15s.

they are awesome. a bit of road hum, but I will test them out this weekend on the trails. I got em from tyres.com, an amazing resource for offroad tires. 5 shipped was 588.00 which works out to about 118 a tire. $17 to get them mounted. so for 135 each they are on the vehicle.

they have a bit of hum on road, my wife says it's like driving over rumble strips, but I have noticed they are quieter after a couple days. Had to trim the back corner of my rear fender well, that's it so far.

I measured them before mounting, and they measured at 31.25" tall, and a hair over 10 inches wide. They are a really good replacement for the stock tires. much more aggressive than AT KOs, and I think moreso than BFG MTs too. will find out how they do offroad.

Matt

I thought you were getting them in exchange for doing some work for some guy up near you ... ?

Well, not sure if I talked to you about that, but my patience ran out and I just ordered them.

Oh, I put a nick in one of the front sidewalls, and there is a bulge, so I may be delegating that one to the spare. other than that, I think they performed amazingly well, and after listening to Will's TSL Radials, I feel I got the right tires. They are excellent in the mud, grab rocks in loose rock situations, work well at 12 psi, 14, and 16 too. And their highway noise is probably 35% of that of Will's TSL Radials. So they are probably the quietest Super Swampers.

How big is the nick and how did you put it there? Was it from going offroad or from normal driving? I'm just trying to get an idea of how strong the sidewalls are. They're 2-ply, right?

I'm curious about the nick in the sidewall too... You just got 'em and already nicked one? That doesn't sound encouraging...

This is one of the tires I'm considering, along with the BFG AT/MT.

If you guys only saw the rocks Matt and the rest of us were climbing at ECXC, you wouldn't be worried about HOW he got a nick. I'm surprised we all didn't get nicks on our tires (I haven't really looked).

Nicks or no nicks, I wouldn't trade the fun we had at ECXC for gold. Well maybe gold...or cash money...

Sidewall nicks can happen at anytime. Stronger sidewalls prevent nicks from becoming flats. Ask OffroadX who just sliced up his BFG AT's.
