What's the perfect size BFG All-Terrain KO?

I have a 2000 X SE. The stock BFG Long Trails have lasted a weak 21000, they need replaced before I hit 25000. So I went to a local tire store to get a price on some new BFG All-Terrain KO's. He quoted me $440 for 4 tires, mounted and balanced, the works, plus free rotation for life. He told me I might want to up the size to 30/50/15, that way I won't have to trim the fender and stuff. Should I take the advice or go a bit bigger?
Thanks in advance.

Actually I think the guy said 39/50/15, but I thought that the first number was always inches so I thought he might have said 30. To tell you the truth at this point I don't remember, but I do like the price he gave me.

ohhh ok, I guess he really said 30x9.50/15. You're right, that just made sense.

Get the 31x10.50s. I had the 30x9.50s for awhile before upgrading to the 31x10.50s. You will regret the 30x9.50s. You will love the 31x10.50s. I have a 2000 also. Trust me - you won't be sorry.

Thanks Scott, I just want a meaner looking, well performing tire.
Thanks for the advice. All my questions are answered.

Sorry one other thing Scott. Did you get any kind of mileage warranty with your tires?

I can't remember if there is any mileage warranty with the tires. I tend to put low enough miles on my truck (I'm at 25,000 miles after 3 years) that they tend to dry rot before they wear out.

If it helps solidify your decision, you can figure to get about 40,000 hard* miles out of a set of 31" BFG AT KO tires. That's about what I've got on my current set, which is installed on a Pathfinder.
I don't think BFG AT's have mileage warranties, though.
