Has anyone had any experience with the Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTX tires. I'm looking at getting a set of 31x11.50x15 sometime in the next year. I like the sidewall tread, and have read good reviews. They are siped, so I'm assuming the wet traction will be pretty good. Most of my driving is on the road so I need to go with an AT tire. Wet traction is very important as well, since we get quite a bit of rain here in Fl. Does the tread last as long as say the BFG AT/KO or the GY AT/S?
Any input from someone with experience with these tires would be helpful.

I really dig the Mickey Thompson tires and wouldn't mind getting some myself, but alas - they're pretty scarce in the 16" size department. Nothing particularly suits my specs, and like BFGs - you pay a little for the name. Awesome tires, though.

I have heard that the MT Baja Claws suck. All show and no go. I have driven a toyota with a set and the ride was nasty. Of course, these are not the Baja Radial MTX. I have yet to see anything positive about the tires.

The one thing about the MT tires is that by and large, they have polyester and fiberglass belts, not steel. This may have a negative effect on street driving, I'm not sure.

There are plenty of 15" Xterra wheels for sale. It's not like the 16" wheels are welded to your truck.

It makes switching over to aggresive tires much easier.

Thanks for the replys. I will look to see if the Baja Radial MTX has steel belts. I would believe the belts would make a difference on the street.

I've got the radial claws and they absolutely do not suck. They aren't quite as aggresive as the swamper bogger but almost. Boggers aren't radial and super suck on the road. I paid $160 for 33X12.50. They are also much quiter than the boggers. I've got picks on my web site.
