Does anyone know a good amp to use to power aftermarket speakers well, but is small enough to fit under the seat in the truck?

I have a Kenwood four channel amp under my passenger seat. The model is about five years old so I don't know if the current model Kenwoods would fit under the seat...they should though.

you got to be more specific. How many channels, how many watts, do you want to add a sub or bazooka later? Give s some specs please.

Did you install aftermarket speakers?

I am going to purchase Sony Component speakers 6 1/2 ES XS-HF58 and Sony 6x9 XS-F6921. I am looking to power those with a decent 4 channel amp that will fit under my seat. I prefer something Sony, I can get a good discount.

if you want to stay with sony, than you still have a few choices. Here are a couple of them from crutchfield, I assume that you can get a better deal than what they offer, other wise I might suggest a different brand.

Sony's Xplod XM-754SX 4-channel amplifier ($299)
200 watts x 2 in bridged mode
100 watts x 4 into 2 ohms
MOSFET power supply and output stage
front and rear high-pass/low-pass filters variable from 50-300 Hz, 12 dB per octave
line-level and speaker-level inputs
frequency response 20-20,000 Hz
signal-to-noise ratio 100 dB
dimensions:14-1/8"W x 2"H x 10-1/2"D

Sony Xplod ES XM-7547 (Save $270! Was $599.95, Now: $329.95
)
150 watts x 4 or 360 watts x 2 into 1 ohm
continuously variable high-pass and low-pass crossovers (50-4,000 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
selectable low-cut (subsonic filter) 7Hz-40 Hz with selectable cut and boost (0-10 dB)
103 dB signal to noise ratio
non-negative feedback design for superior reproduction
high-voltage/high-current modes
single-ended push/pull design for stability at 1 and 0.5 ohm
discrete differential inputs for reduced noise
dual power supplies
21"W x 3-5/16"H x 12"D

Kenwood KAC-648S 25W x 4 Car Amp ($199)
2-, 3-, 4-channel, or Tri-Way output
70 watts x 2 in bridged mode
35 watts x 4 at 2 ohms
anti-thump circuit for quiet turn-on
speaker short, thermal overload, and DC protection
extra-large toroidal noise filters
speaker-level inputs
gold-plated preamp outputs
80 Hz selectable low-pass crossover, 12 dB/octave
150 Hz selectable high-pass crossover, 12 dB/octave
10-3/4"W x 2-1/4"H x 11-1/2"D

I personally went with the Clarion APX600.5 (5 channel 600 watts) and love it.

ah, its time for you to take out the old measuring tape and find out. You should also take into account that it won't be very well venalated and run the risk off haaving spilled drinks, water, snow etc, come in contact with it and it will be a bitch to adjust if need be. Personally mine is mounted to the back of my sub box, but most mount it to the back of a rear seat. Others have even made a shelf for it in the cargo area.

dimensions:14-1/8"W x 2"H x 10-1/2"D

No problemo Gearhead! I have some other larger photos at yahoo. One of these days I'll get around to redoing my interior upgrades pages so that my photos are larger and more complete!

Have I mentioned I hate Yahoo? Let's try this link!

OK, I want to know something. Yahoo supposedly allows you to share your photos, but how the **** do you get people linked there? Goddamn yahoo pisses me off!
