Since the Roady 2 is being replaced by the Roady XT, I would assume they'll be on sale until they're gone.

We put two of them on layaway for $49 each at WM for our two teenage kids. Darned if they aren't a lot cheaper now. I told my wife to cancel the layaway and get her money back, but she had just paid them off and brought them home just before the price dropped.

Local stereo shop was selling them for $9.99 each on Black Friday and all day yesterday, as long as supplies lasted (which I don't know how long they lasted).

By the way, depending on how close you are to the big cities, you'll probably find yourself back at the store buying the $25 external FM modulator. The built-in one isn't strong enough to overcome most local signals or bleedover from strong stations.

not 2 close to the bigger cities.. but Milwaukee & Madison are one like 1 hour or so away...

so i think i might be safe... going to set it up and then call my brother up to get it set up and then ill listen to it for awhile.. not that bad for $ 15 .. so if it lasts cool if not oh well....

talk to you later..

Does it come with a tape adaptor? If so use that it will sound better than the fm modulator. We tried both once at an xcursion and the fm mod one was weaker. However, it was cool when i hooked it up and all the trucks in the group tuned o the channel. All 5 trucks were sporting sirius. Good for caravans as well but then everyone has to listen to the same. Hard to go wrong for $15! The Roady 2 is a good unit too!

XM finally did it right w/ the new roadyXT. the FM mod on those covers all frequencies, not just 89.x and 106.x. but i've still had little luck w/ my MyFi FM mod in the X. i finally had to get a PAC direct-in. a wired FM mod that works on 87.9 will probably be your best bet, since 87.9 is a restricted frequency. unfortunately, most wireless mods start at 88.1.

Came across this thread while looking for install instructions . . .

Just bought two off ebay: one for my wife, one for me (babyX, don't say a word to her!). It's her Xmas present . . .

Both were $21, free shipping, all in-car hardware included.

Glad to see people are pleased with the performance of the Roady 2. [ThumbsUp]
