Cheap golf in West Phoenix?

Took my bro-inlaw out golfing on Saturday and it seems we are amazingly well matched. He lives out on 107th Ave / I10 tho, so we're looking for a cheap course on his side of town to alternate play a little.
Any ideas? I know there are a few of you that live on the West side of town.

Sun City has about 1million-1billion courses, some par 3 courses too. Summer rates are great 10 bucks including a cart. I might even look around Luke Airforce base there are a couple around there.

Villa De Paz at 103rd and Indian School is always inexpensive, and not a bad course. Coldwater Springs at 115th ave and Van Buren is also affordable and decent. both are very close to the I/10 and 107th ave area. Check out the thursday sports section of the republic. All the course special rates are listed on Thursday Give me a call if ever need a 4th. I am a hack, but I love to get out and smack the ball around

Played at Cypress in Scottsdale on the Indian Reservation on Saturday. $8 walking and it was cloudly and mid 70's / low 80's in temp. Perfect.
Give you some idea of how lame I am tho. I shot a 57 and he shot a 58! lol. I think par is like 27 or somethin. Fun tho all the same.
I can hit a 270 yard drive consistantly. But my short game just sucks ass.

Maybe we need an AZXC golf outing before the rates skyrocket for winter. Post if you are interested, and we can make it for one of the inexpensive courses in Phoenix so it central to East and Westsiders

I suggested that before. But then a bunch of people chipped in saying that they shoot 70's / 80's and that became scary! I'm always up for a cheap game of golf. When it comes to spending $30/$40 a round, then it's not so enjoyable Anything under $20 I consider an affordable couple of hours of fun.

If you're allowing eXmembers to tag along....I might be available. My scores are close to spring/summer temperatures...anywhere from 89 to 120, and that's on a good day. Depending on when, I might be interested.

Depending on when, I might be interested You're usually most interesting after I've had a few cocktails.. :p Wow, who new there're so many duffers amongst the AZXC legions?.. Looks like we should look at this as an event more in depth

Current, Former, friends, we can discuss it in depth...... we can make it the AZXC Open, and all can participate. Make it informal and affordable. get a few foursomes together and spank out 18 holes

I don't play much anymore. Generally I try and play in the summer, and beat the temperature I'm interested if I'm in town when you play.

Oh, and I'm always a fan of Papago (near the Phx Zoo). Great course, and super cheap. Encanto and Cave Creek are both cheap crappy public courses as well.
One of my buddies is a big golfer. I know he knows a few good and cheap west side courses. I'll check with him and post...

Papago sounds nice and central! Anybody in for Saturday or Sunday morning EARLY before it heats up 7:30am? Looks like $13.00 for a weekend game: http://phoenix.gov/SPORTS/golfee.html If we get at least 4 confirmed players I'll call and book a Tee Time.

Yes, Papago is on 52nd just north of McDowell. Lots of jackrabbits and coyotes on the course...
