Uhhh... even if these don't last a long time, for $50 each or 2 or more for $30 each is a score.

I know I want one. Anybody else? It's right near my work so depending on how many they have I could grab a few.

You want one? I have two guys sitting here at work that are going to take one.

Since for 5 they're only $20 each, I think I'll grab five and I'll have two left for anyone that wants one. Otherwise drive your happy a**es over there and start shoppin'!

How do they attach to the roof? What would we need to adapt it to the X? I'm interested especially for $20.

Wish I was closer, I'd grab 2 of these. But they want $105-$130 each for shipping on ebay!

I just picked up 3. I have to go back and get the other two - couldn't fit any more in my Armada) and they are NICE.

Locking with keys, and a nice mounting track on the inside to adjust to just about any horizonal crossbars and includes ubolts too.

Let me see if I can snap a couple pics here shortly.

Looks pretty sweet but all my money right now has to be saved for my new 87 4Runner smile Got offered a deal I couldn't refuse, so not going the Scout route anymore.

I dunno, one of these rare roof boxes would look great on top of that thing! wink

Congrats - I'd have bought that 4Runner too for the price. Perfect trail rig. [ThumbsUp]

Since I am absolutely not familiar with how these things work, does that mean they will simply attach to the rack and nothing else is required for Xterras? I'll be interested then smile Or if at least there is a simple/cheap way to attach it.

I have no idea what the crossbars look like on a '06 Xterra, but the ubolts they give you to mount to whatever horizontal crossbars you have are about EDIT Square Ubolts are 3.0". Don't know if that helps.

I did just pick up the other two - the guy said he found the retail on these was $385. Of course that's a dealer inflated price, but regardless, these are darn near free.

Figures that work would get in the way for me! Silly work.

The crossbars on the new X seem to be at 3" or a bit more (can't measure well in the rain...) but I will drop by tomorrow and pick up one or two anyways smile

Just saw this. I'm going to get one if he has more. Anyone want me to get them one so we get the cheaper price?

Or is anyone planning on getting one soon? I'm out of town for 4 days.

I don't have any left that aren't spoken for, though the boxes are HUGE and probably oversized for UPS(I dunno?).

The guy in charge of selling them, Todd, says he can ship them for just over $100. The boxes are super dirty so I can't put anything like that in my car...and then have to box it back up, sorry. Probably easiest to buy one from him. Tell him "John Schultz" told you about it and see if he can knock the price down to $20.00 plus shipping?

Checking with a chick at work with a Forrester who was looking for something like this. If she wants a couple then I'll grab a 3rd too. Assuming 3 will fit in the X.

Keep in mind how big they are when picking them up.
I have an Armada (huge) and with the 2nd and 3rd row seats all laying down, it's still tight.

No problem. I will get two then. May be even three if they fit and I get another discount smile

I am hoping that at least two will fit, since I have a foldable front passenger seat.

I'd imagine I can fit 1 inside the X. Then I have some ratchet straps I can just tie the other 2 to the roof with. Where is this guy at John compared to 14455 N.Hayden, which I believe is right by you?

I could probably have fit 2 inside the X. But I have 2 boxes strapped on the roof & 1 inside. Looks kinda funny.

It's back behind the Harley dealership (but that entry is closed for "Bike Week" so you have to enter from Frank Lloyd Wright and go south on that last street before the runway (it's marked as Private but 10,000,000 cars/day go through there.

Anyway, there's the main Sales and "Parts" building of the Dealership and then across the street (West side of street) and down about 1/8 mile is the collision center (not "Van Collision). Go all the way back, to the very back and Todd usually comes runnin' out.

I found a back way in from a street that the place backs onto - through a gate that takes you right into the area that Todd works in and the boxes were. 84th Steet. Sheer luck I noticed boxes the size of these things through the open gate while trying to negotiate around Bike Week.

So if anyone else is heading there. Take 84th Street off of Hayden and follow it until you get to a Circular kinda turning area. The gate on the Right goes right into the back of the Ford Dealership where Todd works.

MMmmmkk... since I mentioned the name "John" I got the $20 price for each of the three smile Not a clue what to do with the extra one(s), but what the hay. I fit two inside and one on the top. These things ARE large.

If anyone is interested, I'll bring by one or two for the Mod day. Or you can drop by the dealership and they still have oodles of them left. The price from the Parts section of the dealership is $119, btw.

Yeah, Todd sent me an email saying "damn, you're helping me sell a lot of these things!" [LOL]

Yeah, that secret gate you mention Rog is nice. With all the traffic it can save you 10 min of dicking around. smile [ThumbsUp]

Should be easy if it includes ubolt style brackets. Replace the U-bolts with all thread rod stock, cut to length and bent to conform arount the crossbar.

No the roller coaster is long gone but they have the Budweiser races every summer, I am only a block from the lake so it's great hearing them racing if I can't make it myself. I'm actually moving back to White Meadow Lake in Rockaway Township soon.

I sure wish I could have one shipped, I was thinking about buying one soon and you guys hit the mother load.

No problem - you might want to pick it up from my house or somethin, as yes - They are pretty big and carrying it with passengers in the car might be a problem. You might even have to strap it to the roof if your front seat doesn't fold flat in the 1st gen!

Every time i pass by this thread it makes me sick to know I have to pass up such a good deal!! After looking at everyone's pictures from out there and this deal, i'm tempted to move out there!
Has anyone priced shipping one of these to the East coast (NC 27265)?

Sorry, not a buyer for your house. You've already talked too much about your neighbors. I'd be thrown in jail for letting my glock loose on their dog. What ever happened with that anyways?

I'm interested in 2-3 of them. Does anyone have a picture of how the box attaches to the crossbars? I have an '01. A co-worker is also looking at attaching them to a 97 Dodge Caravan and is curious as to the attachment system.

Nice to meet you today, Ryan. Nice ride, btw too. I miss my X! [Too much XOC] [/b]
Just got back in town and noticed how much activity there is about these boxes. Thanks again for picking one up for me, doesn't look like there will be too many left with everyone jumping on this deal. It was nice to meet up with another XOCer since I haven't made it out to the trips and meetings yet.

Well looks like the chick I picked one up for doesn't want to put one of these on top of her Forrester anymore. So I have a spare, if nobody wants it, then I'll throw it on the 4Runner or somethin smile

Who wants this damn spare box. 2 folks said they wanted it at the meeting last month I think.

Come and get it if you are on the East Side in Florence on Sunday! smile

I am interested in it...how much did you want for it? I'll be down in Phoenix on the 19th if that would work for you. LMK

I frequent N4W (currykid3) so you can check me out. [ThumbsUp]

$20 to the first person who can pick the thing up from me in Mesa. Taking up valuable 4Runner real estate in my Garage.
