Not only did he do it, but it appears he did it with no support vehicles or anyone to help out if he ran into danger.
(although I didn't read the whole thing yet)

He must have done the trails a bunch in the past to feel comfortable doing it by himself.

Hope it wasn't in say... August!! Or his face would look like this: mad
