When you carry a spare can of gas just in case you head into hill country

Pretty much about the time you bought it...

You know you own an Xterra when:

- if you go somewhere, you park by another Xterra, just because.

- when you take you X to a trail and people ask "what's that you're drivin?"

- all the gas station atendants in the local area know you by name ( I drive just about 60 miles a day just to work and back)

- when you drive and try to wave to other Xterra owners (mostly women here) and they just look at you funny.

- when you sit at work and read XOC for a good part of the day.

- sometimes you look outside your window in the house and just admire how you X looks.

- puting on another mod you've been saving for feel like it's your b-day or something, especially if you do it yourself.

...when you get yelled at from your salesman at the dealership because he washed your muddy truck in the car wash and clogged up the drains and left it out of commission for 2 weeks.

-when you get a strange look from a stuck jeeper on the road during a bad snow storm, help him out of his mess and drive through what he was stuck in with only 2wd

-go out to eat with your girlfriend, but make sure you get a window seat so you can keep an eye on the X

-your girlfriend starts to point out and yell "Xterra!" whenever she see another one drive by you

-when you purposly park far away from a store because you notice a snow pile that took up half a spot, and you just had to climb it

I can relate to all of those. I do it all the time.

Because 2nd Gen is SOOOOO Much faster with it's 180hp vs. Gen 1's 170hp. :rolleyes: How about I drive past you in my 05 Pathy with 270HP and wave to you like this...

You can't really call an '02-'04 a second generation though. It was an update more than a redesign. The 2nd gen. really didn't start until the '05.

-You set-up a screensaver at home featureing 3 pictures of family amongst 20+ of your X.
-Put your favorite Poser shot as a wall paper on the computer at work and frequently get caught by boss and coworkers stareing at it.

* When you go to the local car wash, and they all know your car by name. And even ask what adventures He's been in that got Him so dirty.

Have to say that capitalizing "Him" like you're referencing God is just a tad bit disturbing on some level.

you know you "wheel" an xterra, when you dont feel like you've been wheelin' until you've passed this point in either direction... or both at the same time.

I need one of those gauges. About halfway thru the first hill i was lead into today I lost my camera, Smokes and 3 cd cases due to the incline. It was one of the hills going out of the pit at LG. Had to be at 30 plus degres.

mind you, noob here.... Stock X did alot more than I thought it could. Jeep guys broke me in well.

at more than 30 degrees you will lose alot more than a camera, Smokes and 3 cd cases, especially if its your first time.

it takes you longer to get the mud out of your driveway, then to get it off your X..

Being the only new guy in a Nissan today, I don't think they took it "too" easy on me but Dave was a ton of help.

Drove in, I just checking things out...Hey, theres the puddle where 1/2 of MXO fried thier alty's. Next thing I know I'm climbing a hill not fully knowing the benefit of momentum. Made it about 3/4 of the way and lost traction. Dave got me out of it.

Too bad there weren't anyother X's there...

Oh, yeah, here's my engine at the end of the day.

i went to LG once, it was too tame and small for me, for the amount of money and time i spent getting there. i don't remember a whole lot about it, but NOTHING was drastic in that place.

Dave is one of the coolest people i have met thru MXO. he has always been helpful no matter what.

Man, that thing is spotless ( engine bay ), i don't think mine was that clean when i bought it.

You're an hour + south of me so I understand the waste going there but I think you could find a challenge or three there.

Dave was a huge help. I'm glad he had his stock (or close to stock TJ) or would have been in the motocross track all day not knowing where to go.

Engine: Yeah, they must have cleaned the bu-jesus out of it before I bought it. God knows i wouldn't keep it that clean. Just took a pic to see if anything got in there by the end of the day.

The puddle.... i really don't know what the f'k those guys were thinking flying thru it. Had to be 2 1/2' deep today. Saw a Jeep die in there.
