Anybody down? I won't have my sliders on by then but I was told I didn't need them down there. I'd like to get a bunch of people to go since I haven't really done much off roading in the X yet. I'm used to my Wrangler still so I wouldn't mind some experienced people being out there w/ me..whos down??

In October there is usually a Pine Barrens clean-up day sponsored by a Jeep club. People in all kinds of vehicles go, garbage bags and gloves are passed out, and people go down assigned trails and haul out tons of trash. It is a very good cause.

After most of the people go to the Pic-A-Lilly for some awesome wings and give-a-ways.

Not sure if you want to wait for that to go.

For the Pine Barrens, some one should really have a map or GPS in at least one vehicle.

Yea I already had that in my plans..I got a GPS I'm looking into getting the maps for it...

You don't need sliders for protection per se in the Pines...but they DO give you something to hi-lift from if you have to change a tire or get un-hi-centered, etc.

Its easier to get hi-centered...as there's soft sand, and rutted trails, mud, etc.

If one of us has a winch for example...we can just drag you off of what ever you're stuck on though....but if you have to change a tire...well, its trickier.

If still no sliders (PS there's a set of used ones for sale here...) by October...just bring a bunch of boards and 2x4's, and a towel.

same day as the clean up? the clean up you don't do alot of trail riding. you really do more walking.

If you wanna go down there for the hell of it..I was thinking about another run maybe in November or right before the holidays..I've got pretty much everything I need on my truck now..just waiting for my order from calmini to come for my pml..

I'd be down for november. I have another commitment for the weekend of the 28th. But if you want to run around on the 13th still, I'm here. I got to Avon with my boyfriend yesterday and he left this morning to go back home. So I'm just wandering around.

That goes for ANYONE in this area....I'd love to meet some other X drivers. And if you see a dusty Granite X with stickers and a squealing belt, give me a wave!!!

I used to be up near Toms River a lot. Not so much any more.

I will keep an eye out for you. I tend to not drive my X, so if you see someone in a black BMW waving at you it is me.

Alright well let's see who else we can get for the November one..I know that ripcurl lives down there too so thats 3-4 of us real close to each other.
