Hi folx,

I'm headed within half an hour of Paragon to pick up some wheels on November 9th, figured I'd make a day of it and run Paragon. If anyone's interested in going, send me an email.

This is a GDCXC trip, but the more the merrier.

Oleg..

Please explain how it is that a rock was able to get past your lower conrol arms to break your half shaft.

A few have noted a slight binding of the passenger-side shaft at full droop. Pretty sure Ian has.

OK, we're on. Anyone that decides they want to come along at the last minute, we're meeting at the office at 9:00.

We hit one of the Blueberry trails, at least part of it anyway. Their maps suck, not sure where we ended up...
Great trip, perfect weather. Pics/video will be posted.

Well, when there are trail numbers on the trees and on the trail list that aren't even shown on the map, and trail numbers that don't match what the map shows, it's not too hard to get lost or be unable to find the trail you're looking for in the first place.

For example, part of our plan was to come down Turtle, then turn up Spring (31) and wander over to Wet Willy (34) or Squirrel (49) to return to Turtle. We found the south end of Spring, and hadn't gone 100 yds before coming to a 3-way intersection. 2 of the spurs went back to the main road about 100 yds away, the third was labeled Cabin Spring trail (38). The rest of Spring (31) was nowhere to be found, so we went up 38. I'm still not sure what trail we ended up on that took us back to Turtle, it was marked 51 (Campground according to the list) but that doesn't show on the map. The map looks like either Squirrel or Wet Willy. Whatever it was, it was a doozy.

Even veteran visitors like the VA-based Off-Camber Crawlers who were there for the weekend too agree the map is pretty useless.

I don't like the number system they use. It would be just as easy to put the names of the trails on the signs. Maybee some directional signs would be nice too...the kind that would point in the direction of different trails.

I dont know brent , i have been there more then ones, and more then twice, and i have not been lost there yet

ye couple of times it took me a second or two to look over the map , or glance on my laptop ( gps set up ), but i think their map is more then OK

Rich is right, names instead of the numbers would be much better, but oh well

I need to get back out there and start logging the trails on my laptop using TopoUsa 4 so eventually we can have a decent map of the park.

Now to get the truck able to tackle most of the park
