I saw one a few years back when I lived in Va and swore that the next plate I got in another state would have this on it *NOT FROM*. Since I am on the opposite end of the country from where I grew up, it would work great for me.

On a related note, when we had restored our old VW Bug and put Herbie stripes on it, I tried to get vanity plates that read "LOVEBUG", but the state's system deemed it vulgar/obscene/whatever, so we put a plain plate on it.

In a cruel twist of irony, a couple years ago I was passed by another Xterra with a vanity plate on it with the letters "WTF". Go figure.

I wanted to get 5HITBOX for my Saturn but my hubby said no. I was checking the plate search page for AZ's MVD and came across EAT 5HIT, but a few weeks later found the state recalled it

Isnt it like $10 a letter to personalize your plate?

It varies widely from state to state.

In our state, you pay an extra $50 flat fee to get the plate and continue to reuse it from year to year, if I remember correctly. I imagine different states have different costs and regulations.

I have the California 9/11 Memorial plates that has a pic of the flag and says We Will Never Forget on the bottom. Mine says DIOSMA cause I can only get 6 letters/numbers.

So I've been a member for awhile but just never really posted anything.

I'm in CT and I have the police memorial plate. the police shield with a rose across it. I used to be a firefighter and wanted to respect those that were lost, this was the closest thing I could find. My random Numbers and letters though they gave me actually turned out to be 1AUN4. I get asked all the time if it means something, I keep making up new things.

Side Note: I noticed that the NEXterra website hasn't been updated since 2003, is anyone on top of this?
