Have any of you guys thought of anything catchy for your license plates? Let's hear some suggestions, I may be ordering plates in a couple days :-)

I forget who it was, but someone in one of the deleted license plate posts had:

"HANG ON"

It gave me a good laugh, and is definitely appropriate for off-roading.

Would this really fit on an Xterra though? I can see this on maybe a Porsche or Corvette.

For the ones with 265HP, "PHAST X" is available. I think it's a little cheesy, but cool nevertheless.

The correct plate for AN Xterra would be "PASSABLE".

I actually saw someone with "GTFOOMW" a few weeks ago. I would've been interested to know what that person put down as the meaning for that, but it didn't take me but about 2 seconds to figure out what it probably REALLY meant.

Of course, when he was still living out here and had it, I thought johnnyx's plate was the best. Hehe.

Hey all.....I am new here (this is my first post). We just bought an X and we don't do any offroading yet (we bought our X because we liked the looks, plus it's good to take to construction sites with rough roads and all).

Anyway, our personalized plate says "WER4BEN" because we are Steeler fans and love Ben Rothlisberger, plus since our X is yellow (Steeler's colors) we added Steeler car flags and decals on the back.

My new plates arrived yesterday...thanks to my girlfriend.

We got our first X back in Dec 04 and the wife loves it. Considering the fact that I RARELY get to drive it and haven't had much time to put into any customization, figured that a vanity plate would be a decent start. Finally settled on NT2XTRM (not too extreme)since she's the main driver and it has YET to see anything other than a paved road. If I had it to do all over again, It'd probably be X OUT. That's what we call bad golf discs we can't sell for full price, so they get a big X on em.

People at tournaments would get it. Since I work for a disc manufacturer.

I wanted to get 2WD LOL but husband said having "LOL" on my X would look geeky

I saw one a few years back when I lived in Va and swore that the next plate I got in another state would have this on it *NOT FROM*. Since I am on the opposite end of the country from where I grew up, it would work great for me.

On a related note, when we had restored our old VW Bug and put Herbie stripes on it, I tried to get vanity plates that read "LOVEBUG", but the state's system deemed it vulgar/obscene/whatever, so we put a plain plate on it.

In a cruel twist of irony, a couple years ago I was passed by another Xterra with a vanity plate on it with the letters "WTF". Go figure.

I wanted to get 5HITBOX for my Saturn but my hubby said no. I was checking the plate search page for AZ's MVD and came across EAT 5HIT, but a few weeks later found the state recalled it

Isnt it like $10 a letter to personalize your plate?

It varies widely from state to state.

In our state, you pay an extra $50 flat fee to get the plate and continue to reuse it from year to year, if I remember correctly. I imagine different states have different costs and regulations.

So I've been a member for awhile but just never really posted anything.

I'm in CT and I have the police memorial plate. the police shield with a rose across it. I used to be a firefighter and wanted to respect those that were lost, this was the closest thing I could find. My random Numbers and letters though they gave me actually turned out to be 1AUN4. I get asked all the time if it means something, I keep making up new things.

Side Note: I noticed that the NEXterra website hasn't been updated since 2003, is anyone on top of this?

Hey all, thought I'd let everyone know about my new personalized licene plates I just ordered. I'm in Ohio and am an alum and huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. So I got Ohio State plates that say BUXTRA.

I'd like a license plate that would be weird for the cops to call in like:

EXPIRED
BLANK
GONE

So the cop goes: I'd like to call in an APB, licence plate is...

except when they call them in, they use the phonetic alphabet to spell the plate, they don't just read it. Nice idea tho

The only problem with NY is that EVERY custom plate has to go through a comprehensive search for offensive content.
They even did that for my "rockrwlr" plates.
And certain plates, even though you can order them through the website, are prohibited.
The order wont get processed or you'll be rejected.

Those are a bunch of good ones though.
