The backspacing is the most important thing. Unless you get aftermarket rims in the same backspacing, you'll be at a disadvantage. I have wheeled my stock rims hard for years with no problems. I am running 33's with stock rims.

Yellow rims do help you go through deeper mud and pull you over bigger rocks.

Steelie? (Stocky?) The stealerships want around $250 a rim for the 16" alloys, on e-bay or here you can get four for closer to $200 - 300 ($50 - 75) each-ish)...depending upon condition, greed, etc. Steelies are more like $25 a pop. The stock alloy is pretty tough, anything can be broken, but, I haven't seen one break yet (I'm sure others have...they just didn't tell me ) If you paint them yellow though, they are impervious to damage....it intimidates the rocks.

I have been looking for 4 steel stock wheels.
I guess I haven't been looking hard enough...
25 bucks a pop sounds great to me!

PML w/AAL not shackles is a less poor (More expensive), better on road/worse off road, but 1.5" higher way to go....I would have done just the shackle version myself.
