As expected when one of my two boys wore his goneMoab shirt to Vacation Bible School all his buddies were awestruck at the shirt what it meant how he got and both my sons talked about the new friend they had met (Anthony). Todd my boys and their cousin had a great time "hangin" with your son, they look forward to next year.

The image I have of the three boys sitting in the back of the truck wearing their helmets while bouncing down the trails is amazing. Next year, we should consider assigning a separate radio channel for the junior conversations. They wanted to talk to each other while driving, but being parents we said no way.

Anthon-e (phonetic spelling) had a great time. It was good to have some other junior drivers with us this year. We hope to be back next year. I think I better start putting a 10 dollar bill each week into a fuel fund for the trip. I cant imagine the fuel costs for those more than 500 miles away.....

For me:

$823.70 in gas total (surprisingly less than I thought)
3890 miles total

The experience (Moab and meeting people I might not have any other chance to meet);

I drove just under 3000 total miles for my trip out from Minnesota.

At least 44 of those miles were the hardest the truck has ever seen.

It was an experience to be sure. I would have liked cheaper gas, but we do what we can.

Did anyone have problems with the 85 octane gas out in UT and Colorado? I read in the manual that 87 is the minimum preferred.

I now remember what I wanted to reply about.

I got the Moab t-shirt shop to make a custom shirt with the trail names I ran on the back (the same font as the stickers you could buy). I wore that to work on Wednesday and everyone asked me what "Steel Bender" or "Lion's Back" was, so I showed them the pictures. Quite a conversation piece. The shirt ended up costing $21.95 or something, but still less than a Harley Davidison t-shirt.

Above 4000 feet, you can knock a couple of points off the octane requirements. The 00 and 01 manuals note that, not sure why they don't for 02-06...

Why provide higher quality of gas, there is little to no oxygen up here.

My triple ought could use a couple oxen out front at high altitude to provide that little extra umph!

Supercharged engine still require the 91 octane....Power nice - higher fuel costs bad.
