Hey hoppy...yup...the list is growing!! I also made a post last nite on newfoundlandmotorsports.com to see if there were any Xterra owners on there...but nobody has responded yet anyway. So yeah...xnfld and maybe his buddy, and I would be willing to go for a little run somewhere around the end of the month....that is if I don't have to work...so we will all have to be in touch, and see if we can plan something. Should be a laugh for sure....
But nothing too exteme!!

As for the tires...I want the BFG's, but not sure which ones that I'll end up gettin...Have ya been out to the new walmart on Kenmount yet?? They have a nice looking set out there....they look alot like the BFG's, now I know they are not as good but they are only $103 +tax a tire....so I've thought about them as well, since the price is awesome!! Check um out sometime...

are all our X's silver in color..cause mine is and my buddies is, i know newfiex's is silver how about yours Hoppy???? if you go on the NOVA site there are some trails that they do..i know the trail going from kilbride to petty harbour is a good one, i have friends who love the trail...nothin to serious a little mud and some rocks..all of which doable!!

all the same..i dont think the tires a walmart would be any good....stick with something that will give you a bit of warrenty and you know will be a good tire. if you want a tire that will last stick withthe BFG's AT's, the long trails are almost like a street tire really small tread, i had them on mine wheni first bought my x and they were garbage. but its good to see you shopping around...But buyer beware!!!

yeah so!! myself and my buddy will be in town the end of april, and we are stoked about gettin abit dirty...so lets stay in touch maybe we can go whellin for the day

Yeah I am not too keen on the Walmart tires either ... kinda like the roughriders from crappy tire ... you get what you pay for in the end laugh .

The BFG Long Trails are a great highway tire and I do a ton of driving for work so they seemed like the smart choice for what I payed. Great in the rain too I find. Next will be a set of AT's I hope, but the Long Trails are good enough for what I do for now.

A buddy of mine with a Liberty (Ch-eep  ) are hoping to get out this weekend for a run somewhere, maybe in CBS or something. Nothing serious, just want to get out and enjoy the weather if it is sunny again laugh

Oh, and my X is silver as well [ThumbsUp] .

yeah..so thats the 4 of us with silver X's....haha!! cool. And I just love my X. After going from a little 2 dr. cavalier, with no options, up to this X, fully loaded...the difference is unreal. And I'm truely lovin it!!

And the long trails are what I have on my X now, like you say, they are great on the highway, but not so great offroad, or in deep snow...But I made it threw the winter, and had alot of fun doing it none the less!!! Hope to get a good set when I sell the 17" rims and tires that I had on the cavy...

So yeah hopefully the end of the month we can all do alittle run...and have a laugh.

That doesn't suprise me, warrunty work is touchy stuff. They are good folks in at O'Neils though, well to me they are anyway. One of the guys at the parts counter (Brian) is a great guy and has always been a big help to me.

The way I see it with the Long Trails is that they are fine in the snow, and if the snow gets to deep that is what 4WD is for laugh ... they aren't too bad off road when you are only into novice stuff ... deep, thick mud hits them hard (not self cleaning) as well as rough rock trails (puntures and stuff), but for just travelling on the back roads and over powerline trails they are fine ... as long as you have a buddy to help you along if you need it you are fine ... but AT's woudl be better laugh

yeah i here ya about the warrenty work!! i have timberline AT's and they are aewsome...they are 31x10.5 and the just feel like you are floating over mud and snow...its a cool feeling! the AT's i think are more practical for highway driving, thats why i went with them instead of MT's, the MT's are super noisey at 60km/h. plus highway driving kills the tread wear!!

The MT's aren't great in the rain either (reportedly anyway)... hopefully the amount of miles I drive decreases over the next year so buying AT's wouldn't be bad. laugh

One of the contractors I have working on one of my sites has the Timberline MT's on the trucks and they are sweet ... I am still partial to the BFG AT T/A KO's myself ... or maybe the Toyo's if the price was right. laugh

Damm guys...I was just in a small back road that we have around here....and man...they are really soft....I guess all the rain hasen't help any, but I had myself a bit worried there for a while, when she sank down pretty good...but she made it out!! smile I'f I would have slacked, she'd of been stuck for sure....Not a fun feeling by yourself, and my cell phone left at home...hehe!! Oh my!! I'm gonna do it one of these days for sure...it was only a short road, like 10 minutes in....so I figured that I'd see what it was like, cause the last time I was in, the snow was way too rotten....Oh well...that was my adventure for today...haha!! [Too much XOC]

haha!! nope...at the time it gets a bit weary on the nerves, but now, ya look back and say "hey man that was awesome!!" haha!! yeah gotta watch some of the roads now..they are really soft....I bet if there was anyone else with me, and help tear up the road even more...I'd say one of us would have been stuck for sure. I had a hard enough time gettin back out, with just my track going in. All I could hear was the mud scrapping along the flaps...I had to giver a few times, to get threw it and she used to pull, almost off into the tree's....Sucks that all the water I had to drive threw on the way out cleaned most of the mudd off again before it dried, or I would have got a few pics....maybe another time!!

Momentum!1 is the the key when your going through mud and water, but make sure you dont spin the tires too much or you could digg yourself a nice hole to get stuck in!! I was off wheelin last night with a friend of mine in a ford ranger...he didnt even come close to what i was doing in the mud..had to use the recovery strap to pull him out within the first 5 minutes!!! BOOOO FORD!!!!!!!!

Not so happy today guys...went out this morning and get in my X, and discover that I have no power steering....so I check, and there is only a bit of frothy fluid in the reseivor...I top it up, and look for leaks, and turns out that the bottom of my steering box is leaking!!!! Not Happy at all.... frown

I had a very small leak around one of the seals in the steering arms ... I added some GUNK sealant stuff and it seems to stop it for now ... might help you out for a few days if you need it ... like 3 bucks at Walmart or something ... [Wave]
