It's time for some new shocks for my 2002 4wd Xterra. Non lifted. I can't seem to find anything that fits. I was hoping to find some 10% Bilstein or some rancho 5000's but when I called both companies they said they don't have anything for the 2002. Could someone please tell me what would fit this? I am under the impression that the 2002 shocks are specific.

I am going to buy some Bilsteins as well, and have done a little research on them, and here is what I found out driect from Bilstein.

For the 2002 X 4WD:
Rear - BE3-6422-H0
Front - B46-1099-H2

If you have a 2wd, then use these on the front:
B46-1099-H1

I'm going to buy mine from eshocks.com in the next week or so.

Hope that helps in your decision making.

Just a pointer -

The 00-04 X's shocks are all the same...the 2002's are not different.

I'm confused now. Is there a spec sheet that decodes the Bilstein part number?

The number for the fronts looks familiar...B46-1099-H2.
I usually see B46-1099-H0 for a lifted x, 20% stiffer.

The rear part number is new to me BE3-6422-H0.
Shouldn't it be B46-2126-H0 for a lifted x, 20% stiffer?

Shot of the rear Bilstein 5100 for altered suspension, 20% stiffer than stock.

Bilstein's Part #'s:

Front -
F4-B46-1099-HO (Very Short Yellow Shocks, with Piston Compression Bumper, about 2" before they hit the piston bumper, and only 4" total travel if I take off the bumper (Which is about 2" thick)

Rear -
BE5-6216-HS (Much Bigger Silver Shocks,
no Piston Bumper, about 10" of travel)

(SLR) shocks were for a 3" suspension lift with 20% stiffer ride:

Above SLR #'s:

BL5-14 Front
BL5-11 Rear

SLR may have changed THEIR part #'s...but the shocks are still available from eshocks, etc...if needed.

Rancho makes the RSX. I think the part numbers were 17123 and 17124, but I can't remember, as it was several years ago.

Rocky Mountain Suspension should have the Rancho part numbers.

I ended up getting the Bilstein. Damn, they don't give them away so I hope I have no regrets.

Zipster, how do the Bilstein's feel? Did you install them yourself?

Where did you end up buying them, and were they the same part #'s I sent you?

since we are on this subject, I have a 2005 OFF ROAD that I would like to stiffen the suspension for better feel handling on road and through curves. The body is all OEM. I would love to get the tight feel that my 2006 Rubicon has. Seems to be a little mushy going down the road
